When I first started tigers den swords, I created these web pages thinking that they would only be temporary while I set up a better website.  Well, nearly two years has passed and I’m still no nearer to sorting a better website. So I shall now make every effort to get more information and new pages added soon...... and will postpone the ’New and Improved’ website until a later date.

tigers den training jian

This is a medium weight sword ranging from about 550g to about 700g. Suitable for forms, partner work and light to moderate sparring.

A faster sword than the TCSL competition jian. and the easier handling and lighter weight make it an ideal sword for anyone who is new to sparring.

For experienced practitioners, the lighter weight makes it  easier to train for longer periods without fatigue.

To start off the New Year, we have the launch of the new ‘Training Jian

Coming up in 2011 will also be a two-handed version of the training jian. At the moment, I am making two-handed prototypes with blades from 31” (790mm) to 38” (965mm).  Once these are finished, they will then be sent off to several independent testers who will give them a good work out and check them for performance and strength.

In addition, I will be bringing out some dao.  Before the end of the year is out, I hope to have a training niuweidao, A TCSL yanmaodao and a TCSL miaodao all in production.

I already have a design for a fangshi  (TCSL compatible) two-handed dao. This has been tried and tested and has been found to perform well. So this will be going into production….but probably not until after the niuweidao and the yanmaodao have been released.

And in between all this sword making, I will endeavour to improve the tigersden website......and in particular, add information about choosing and caring for wooden swords.  Please be patient while I sporadically fumble around with the site.....

.....and as the Chinese New Year is now upon us, I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a happy, healthy and prosperous Year of the Rabbit!
